Welcome to Story Time Builders! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Story Time Builders mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by Story Time Builders Inc. ("we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years old, or you have the consent of a parent or guardian
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations

2. Description of Service

Story Time Builders is a platform that allows adults (parents, caregivers, teachers, counselors) to create personalized AI-generated stories for children. The Service includes:

• AI-powered story generation with personalization
• Digital story library and management
• Read-aloud narration features
• Story sharing capabilities
• Optional premium subscription features

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Keep your account credentials secure
• Promptly update any information that changes
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

4.1 Free and Paid Plans

The Service offers both free and paid subscription plans. Details about features and pricing are available in the app and on our website.

4.2 Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You agree to their respective payment terms. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your app store account settings. Upon cancellation:

• You retain access to paid features until the end of your billing period
• Your account reverts to the free plan
• Stories you created remain accessible

4.4 Refunds

Refund requests are handled through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store according to their policies. We do not directly process refunds.

5. Acceptable Use

5.1 Permitted Use

You may use the Service to:

• Create personalized stories for children in your care
• Share stories with family members and authorized individuals
• Use stories for educational or therapeutic purposes (with appropriate licenses)

5.2 Prohibited Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Create content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, or inappropriate for children
• Attempt to generate content that depicts violence, abuse, or exploitation
• Use the Service to harass, bully, or harm any person
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the Service
• Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
• Resell or redistribute stories for commercial purposes without authorization
• Circumvent any content filtering or safety mechanisms

6. Content

6.1 User-Provided Content

When you provide information to create stories (names, interests, etc.), you:

• Retain ownership of the factual information you provide
• Grant us a license to use this information to generate stories
• Represent that you have the right to share information about the children in your care

6.2 Generated Content

Stories and illustrations generated by our AI:

• Are created specifically for your personal, educational, or therapeutic use
• May not be used for commercial purposes without a Professional license
• Remain subject to our content guidelines and moderation

6.3 Content Moderation

We reserve the right to review, moderate, and remove any content that violates these Terms or our content guidelines. Our AI includes safety filters, but no system is perfect. Please report any concerning content immediately.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, code, AI models, and branding, is owned by Story Time Builders Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without permission.

7.2 Your License to Use Generated Stories

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to:

• View and enjoy stories within the app
• Download stories for personal offline use
• Share stories with family and friends
• Print stories for personal use

Professional users with appropriate subscriptions have additional rights as specified in their license agreement.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Service, you consent to our privacy practices.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Generated content will be completely accurate or appropriate for all situations
• The Service will meet your specific requirements
• Any defects will be corrected

We recommend that adults review generated stories before sharing with children.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORY TIME BUILDERS INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Any loss of profits, data, or goodwill
• Any damages exceeding the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on certain damages, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Story Time Builders Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party

12. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes when possible.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Posting the updated Terms on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending you a notification through the app or email

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Service ceases immediately
• You may request a copy of your data within 30 days
• We may delete your data after 30 days

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in the app.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved:

• First, through good-faith negotiation
• If unresolved, through binding arbitration in San Francisco, California
• Class action lawsuits and jury trials are waived to the extent permitted by law

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Story Time Builders Inc. regarding the Service.
